Kenya Waturi (Esp)
The Kenya Waturi Peaberry comes with a full family tree. The estate was first planted in 1969 by William Murathe, an early member of the historic Kenya Planters Cooperative Union, who somehow balanced coffee farming with running one of Kenya’s most successful wine and spirit importing businesses. His son later inherited part of the land and named it after his mother, while the coffee company took its name from his daughter. Very wholesome. After careers in tech, politics and agriculture, David returned his attention to coffee with a deeper understanding of the supply chain. Today, independent processing and direct sales give the team greater control, faster payments and closer relationships with buyers.
Tasting Notes: Balanced with ripe plum, juicy stone fruit, apricot sweetness, layered with brown sugar and a bright, silky grapefruit finish.
Process: Washed
